Trolley wheel and rail inspections

The challenge

The client experienced an unwanted vibration on the crane including the operator cabin, even after several repairs executed by specialized crane maintenance companies the issue off the vibration was not solved. Prior to any repair STARKON agreed with the client that it is required to find the root cause first off these vibrations.

The solution

In good cooperation between the machine owners and STARKON, we combined our expertise on this topic, STARKON’s expertise based on past projects. Example.

STARKON had drew up and executed an inspection plan to find the root cause.
Including:
– Whole body vibration measurement.
– Trolley wheel alignment check.
– Wheel Bearing play inspection.
– Complete trolley rail including short rail inspection.
– Rail span inspection.
– Operator cabin buffer inspection
– Etc.

The result

The inspection took place in 2 days, after the inspection the root cause was found and consisted of several small deviations in the inspected items. The result is a proper repair plan which results in a final solution. The repair plan can be used by the client to tender the work-scope to several subcontractors.
