STS Crane Short Rail Replacement

STARKON’s client requested that we perform an inspection on three of their STS Cranes situated in Le Havre earlier this year and to come up with a repair plan for their vibrations during trolley travelling.

The solution

Heavy bumps and vibrations were noticed during the transit from Boom to Girder. One of the reasons for these bumps was the status of the shortrails. Movement was observed, and heavy wear was measured. STARKON offered a complete shortrail replacement according to our high-standard work method using our own working platform.

STARKON changed all necessary parts and realised a smooth transit two days ahead of the original schedule. Crane drivers described the new transit as ‘one of the best in the universe’.
